Building a User-Centric Food Delivery Platform from Concept to Prototype
We partnered with Customcook, a startup, to create an omni-channel platform that connects diners with chefs for personalized food experiences tailored to each individual's tastes and dietary restrictions. From initial concept to final prototype, this project involved user flow design, rapid prototyping, and in-depth research to deliver a scalable, market-ready product.
Final deliverables included a design system, six fully considered prototypes for web, tablet, and mobile platforms.

GOALS
1. We will design an quick-to-market product that is omni-channel focused and user-centric.

3. We will address a focus group and concept test to gather insights and testimonials from relevant/real users.

Understanding our Product and User Base
Our research process consisted of stakeholder interviews, user journeys, user flows, and user interviews. Here is a snapshot of the research we conducted.

Mapping out the service flow for target users
A key aspect of this project included designing the ability to group users into targeted segments, funnel those segments into particular flows and track the engagemnt of the segments within the flows. We split Customcook to three main user flows to capture the needs for affiliate, cooks, and diners.

FINDING A CHEF
One of the notable features of Customcook is the ability to request a chef to prepare food in the user's own home in addition to food delivery and pickup. This is very much like hiring a temporary private chef through the Customcook app.
BOOKING A CHEF
Users are able to browse through a selection of chefs and recipes and request chefs to prepare a dish listed on their own profile pages or request a recipe the user may have found elsewhere.
CHOOSING YOUR MEAL AND REQUESTING A CHEF
Users are able to choose recipes based on their taste preferences and dietary restrictions while awaiting confirmation from a chef.
CHEF DASHBOARD AND ACCEPTING AN ORDER
The feature highlighted here is the Chef dashboard, a tool that allows Chef to keep track of their orders, accept or deny a new order, track earned money, and also view and respond to ratings from customers.
